One Thing Leads to Another

In this workshop, the aim is to recognise and develop the ‘vocabulary’ of the making of our own work. We’ll begin with some simple mark making exercises on paper, and move on to experimenting with small hand stitched examples of different cloths and stitches, lines and marks, patterns and textures. We will think about how we manage to evoke a mood, a feeling, a story, with colour, form and design. This can lead on to the making of a larger piece of work that you can continue to develop on your own. Alternatively, all the samples that you make can be mounted into the form of a small booklet for your further reference.
